How to move from OneDrive to Terebyte
Updated October 9, 2026
To move from OneDrive to Terebyte, keep your OneDrive files on your computer with the OneDrive app, then upload the folder with Upload → Upload folder. Terebyte encrypts every file on your computer before it’s uploaded and keeps your folders as they are.
On Mac
Step 1
Open your OneDrive folder
With the OneDrive app installed and signed in, open OneDrive in the Finder sidebar.
Step 2
Keep the files on your Mac
Select the folders you want, Control-click and choose Always Keep on This Device. Wait until the cloud icons disappear.
Step 3
Upload the folder to Terebyte
In Terebyte, open My files, choose Upload → Upload folder and pick the folder, or drag it onto the page. Everything inside, subfolders included, is encrypted on your computer before it’s uploaded. Keep the tab open until it’s done; you can pause and carry on later.
On Windows
Step 1
Open your OneDrive folder
Open OneDrive in File Explorer; it’s built into Windows.
Step 2
Keep the files on this PC
Select the folders you want, right-click and choose Always keep on this device. Wait for the green ticks.
On iPhone
Step 1
Save files from the OneDrive app
In the OneDrive app, tap ⋯ next to a file, choose Share and save a copy to Files.
Step 2
Upload them to Terebyte
Open terebyte.com in your browser, go to My files and choose Upload → Upload files, then pick the files. Phones can’t choose a whole folder, so folders aren’t kept: for a whole library, a computer is much easier.
On Android

Questions
- Can Terebyte see my files while they move?
- No. Each file is encrypted on your own device before it’s uploaded, with a key only you hold. Terebyte stores ciphertext it can’t read, and that includes the file and folder names.
- What if the upload stops halfway?
- Nothing is lost. Pause and resume whenever you like. If the tab closes, choose the same folder again: Terebyte carries on where it stopped and skips everything already uploaded.
- Will I get duplicates if I upload the same folder twice?
- No. Files already there with the same name and size are skipped. A different file with the same name is kept alongside, as “name (2)”.
