Partner agreement
Effective October 23, 2026
This agreement lets an organization give its members Terebyte, end-to-end encrypted cloud storage, free for a year, and earn from what they later pay. It is between Terebyte Inc. (“Terebyte”) and the organization named when it’s signed (“the Partner”). Write to partners@terebyte.com to start. See also Terebyte for organizations.
| Price to the Partner | $0. The Partner pays nothing and is never invoiced |
|---|---|
| Each member gets | 250 GB of storage, with every feature, for 12 months from the day their account starts |
| The Partner earns | 10% of every payment its members make, not counting tax and payment fees, for life |
| Payable | Once the amount payable reaches $100, by bank transfer |
1. What Terebyte provides
Each member who joins through the Partner’s page, link or an invitation Terebyte sends at the Partner’s request gets a Terebyte account with 250 GB for 12 months from the day it starts. Each member accepts Terebyte’s Terms of Service and Privacy Policy for their own account. Their files are encrypted on their own device: Terebyte can’t see their files or file names, and neither can the Partner.
Free memberships. Invite as many people as you like. We start every partner with 2,500 free memberships for the people who sign up, and we add more on request, usually the same day. The number exists for one reason: every free membership costs us real storage, and we’d rather be honest about that than promise something we couldn’t keep. It protects the offer from abuse so it can stay as generous as it is. If you expect more than 2,500 sign-ups, tell us before you launch and we’ll set the number with you.
2. After the year
At the end of a member’s 12 months they can keep everything on the Basic plan at its price at the time, or their account becomes a free account with 25 GB, under Terebyte’s Terms of Service. Their files remain theirs.
3. Inviting members
The Partner may give Terebyte a list of email addresses of its own members, and only of people it is entitled to contact at those addresses. Terebyte sends each address one invitation, in its own name, saying the invitation comes from the Partner, and no reminders. Addresses that don’t join within 60 days are deleted.
4. What the Partner earns
The Partner earns 10% of every payment its members make, not counting tax and payment fees, for life. For life means for as long as that member keeps paying. Each amount is held for 45 days. A payment that is refunded or disputed, or an account found to break Terebyte’s Terms, earns nothing, and an amount already paid for it is taken off the next statement.
5. Statements and payment
Each month Terebyte makes a statement of the members paying, the amount earned, held and payable. Terebyte pays the amount payable by bank transfer once it reaches $100, and marks the statement paid. Terebyte pays nothing until it has the Partner’s tax form (W-9, or W-8 outside the United States); amounts keep accruing meanwhile.
6. What the Partner sees
Totals only: how many were invited, joined, are active and pay. Never a member’s name, address, files, file names, or how much one member stores.
7. How the Partner describes Terebyte
Next to its link or page, the Partner says that it earns from members who join. It describes Terebyte accurately, using what Terebyte’s website says, and never in absolutes such as “unbreakable”, “100%”, “military-grade” or “nobody can ever read”. It doesn’t say that Terebyte was first or that the idea is new.
8. No exclusivity
Either side may work with anyone else.
9. Term and ending
This agreement starts on the date it’s signed and continues until either side ends it with 30 days’ notice by email. Members who joined before the end keep their year and their accounts, and keep earning for the Partner under clause 4 for as long as they pay, paid under clause 5. Nothing is earned on members who join after the end. Terebyte may end this agreement at once, with no further earnings, only for a breach of clause 7 or fraud.
10. Liability
Neither side is liable for indirect or consequential losses. Terebyte’s total liability under this agreement is limited to the amounts it paid the Partner in the 12 months before the claim.
11. General
This agreement is governed by the laws of the State of Delaware. It is the whole agreement between the Partner and Terebyte about this program; Terebyte’s Terms of Service govern each member’s use of their account. It is signed for Terebyte Inc. and for the Partner, each with a name, title and date.
