API Terms

1. What these cover

Connecting AI agents to your rooms, S3 keys and the S3 endpoint, and API accounts (accounts that pay with credits). Terebyte’s Terms of Service apply too; where these say more, these apply.

2. Your agents act for you

An agent you approve acts on your behalf in the room you gave it, with the permissions you chose. You’re responsible for what your agents do there as if you’d done it yourself. You can pause any agent, close its door, or undo what it did, at any time. Files an agent reads are processed by that agent’s AI provider under the provider’s own terms, not ours.

3. Plain mode is your choice and your responsibility

Objects stored with a plain key are kept as your program sends them: we could read them, unlike everything else in Terebyte. Don’t store anything with a plain key you wouldn’t put in any other cloud. Sealed keys accept only data your program encrypted first.

4. Credits

API accounts pay with credits. Bought credits don’t expire. A plan’s included credits last its month. Usage is charged at the prices on terebyte.com/pricing on the day it happens; prices change only with 30 days’ notice. Automatic top-ups charge the card you last paid with, never more in a month than the limit you set. When credits run out and no top-up can follow, new uploads pause; nothing is deleted and downloads keep working. Unused credits aren’t refunded, except as the law requires or within the money-back window for a first purchase.

5. Fair use

No more than reasonable load: we may slow requests that would harm the service for others. We’ll tell you before anything is limited for long. Don’t use the endpoint to resell storage to others as your own service without telling us first.

6. Unlawful content

The Terms’ rules on illegal content, child sexual abuse material (reported to NCMEC as the law requires) and copyright (our notice process) apply in full, in rooms and buckets alike.

7. Keys

Keep your keys and secrets safe. We show a key’s secret once and don’t keep it. Revoke a key you think was exposed; we’re not responsible for what’s done with a key you shared.

8. Ending

You can close your API account any time; its objects are deleted within 30 days. We may close an account that breaks these terms, with notice unless the law or the harm requires otherwise.

9. Changes

We’ll email you 30 days before these terms change in a way that matters to you.
